2014-2015 School Year

National School Lunch Program Application Information

If you were approved for free or reduced lunch during the 2013-2014 school year, your child/ren’s status will be the same ONLY for the first 30 days of the new school year.  Please make sure you fill out completely the new application being sent home to you from your child/ren’s school and return it to a school when the office reopens. List all children and their schools on 1 application.  If you do not receive one you may pick one up at the office. To avoid any delays in processing, please remember the following:

Only ONE application per residence.  List ALL children living in the household (in school or not). You do NOT have to fill out another application if you have children at different schools.  List them all on 1 application.

List ALL adults living in the home and their GROSS monthly income per individual.

Income shown on application must be from July 2014 or later.

If you qualify based on any assistance you receive you MUST provide the CASE #.  Simply writing, “YES” will delay processing.

Lunch Cost:

  • $3.00 when paying cash daily
  • $ .40 for students eligible for reduced price meals

If you are not paying for the whole month, we ask that a $30.00 minimum be required to write a check.
Checks should be made out to Cafe Fund.

Newark Memorial HS offers a wide variety of foods to the students. In the Cougar Cafe (our speed line) a traditional hot or cold meal with fruit, vegetables, and milk is served. Menu offerings include homemade beef burritos, pizza, freshly made sandwiches, salads, and a selection of ethnic dishes. The Cougar Grill, Cougar Court, and Cougar Corner have windows open during lunch with an extensive menu of food and beverages available.

Breakfast Cost:

  • $1.75 daily
  • $ .25 for students eligible for reduced price meals

Breakfast is served every morning before school from 7:00 a.m to 7:45 a.m. in the Cougar Corner. During brunch service, breakfast is served in the Cougar Café, Cougar Court, and Cougar Corner. Breakfast includes fruit, milk and a choice of a hot entree or cold cereal.

To purchase food on campus, each student MUST have their student identification card. One identification card will be provided free of charge to all students. The I.D. card is the responsibility of each student. If a card is lost or cannot be read by the computer scanner because of student's misuse, another card will be issued to the student at a cost. The cost of the replacement card is the responsibility of the student.
